Charity and Community Events

JAZZ PIANO NIGHT, hosted by The SladeChild Foundation, a 100% childrens charity

Lockheed Martin Leadership Association chapters were proud sponsors of the SladeChild Foundation's 4th annual Jazz Piano Night on Saturday, November 10th 2007, held in Crofton Maryland .

The event was attended by about 115 people, plus 19 local musicians. This night of fun live entertainment included 3 sets: traditional jazz, blues, and some country rock songs sung by members of the David Wayne Band. There was a silent auction, featuring various types of framed photos and lithographs, and holiday wreaths. The founder and Chairman, David Slade, presented a short slide show about the various sponsored childrens projects, helping destitute children in Panama , Ukraine , Mexico , Guatemala , India , and elsewhere where the need is great.

The music, good food, dancing, and good cheer made this event a great success. About $6,000 was raised to support the SladeChild Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity for children that applies 100% of donated funds to help destitute children, providing food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care (see www.sladechild.org for more details). SladeChild Foundation has provided over $1.25 million to destitute children over the last 25 years. CFC#10157.
