Since the first Presidential Proclamation in 1983 designating the first week in June as Management Week
in America, NMA chapters nationwide have used this opportunity to advance and recognize the
importance of developing leadership and management skills. Many also choose to honor a respected
individual ‐‐ one whose leadership style and business acumen have done much to positively impact an
organization or local community.
