“Leaving a Positive Footprint” Program

It is an NMA tradition to “leave a positive footprint” wherever we gather. At every CLT (Chapter Leadership Training) and Annual Conference, our Community & Communications Committee selects a local charity for NMA to sponsor. We then ask all of our attendees (as individuals, and as chapters) to consider making a small, financial donation to our selected charity. This page’s purpose is to highlight some of the wonderful organizations that we have worked with in the past.

All Children’s Hospital Foundation

2017 Annual Conference

Donation: TBA

Clearwater Beach, FL

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is committed to providing excellence in pediatric health care to all children. As part of this vision, the Child Life Department aims to support the psychosocial needs of the child and the entire family. The winter holidays highlight for children and families the increased stress related to illness and missing out on significant life events that their peers are experiencing. In an effort to ease this stress and to bring a touch of “normalness” to their childhood, the Child Life Department facilitates the Wonderland Shopping Experience. This event allows families to shop for their children without the burden of finances or leaving the hospital where their child is being cared for. We have received an overwhelming response from our families of the significance this event holds in their lives…allowing them to fulfill their “holiday role” without interrupting their child’s magical dreams. It is only because of our very generous community of donors that this event is even possible. Through donations of time, talent and treasure, this event is pulled off each year in spectacular style!”
