By Darrell Wacker Published in Front Page News • June 2022

Dayton’s Mayor recently signed a proclamation declaring June 5-11, 2022 as Management Week in the Gem City. The National Management Association was founded nearly 100 years ago as the Dayton organization.

Management Week in America (MWIA) was first recognized in 1982 by a Joint Resolution of Congress and President Ronald Reagan. In addition to Dayton, MWIA has been recognized by Texas Governor Greg Abbott along with the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Richardson, Texas where NMA has significant presence in multiple companies.

The National Management Association was founded nearly 100 years ago by Charles Kettering in Dayton with a commitment to upholding and promoting the ideas of solid, effective management in diverse areas of society. Today, NMA has over 7,000 members in more than 30 chapters around the United States and the Bahamas in companies as diverse as Lockheed Martin, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Nokia, and the City of Columbus, OH. The Association promotes and supports both individual and corporate leadership development through webinars, educational materials, and networking opportunities.
