Crafting Innovative Leaders for Over a Century
Founded in 1925 by prolific inventor Charles F. Kettering, the National Management Association originated as the Foreman’s Club to provide supervisors with the essential skills to lead others. Today, NMA stands as a worldwide partnership of professionals and businesses dedicated to developing human leadership across industries.

Leading Beyond the Workplace: Service, Charity & Veteran Support
NMA’s commitment to leadership extends far beyond professional development. Our local chapters actively spearhead charitable initiatives within their communities, while our national organization maintains a steadfast tradition of host-city giveback and veteran support.
NMA chapters regularly organize charity walks, food drives, and community service projects—such as the LMLA chapter in Greenville, SC participating in the local MS Walk.
Every year, NMA selects a local non-profit in our annual conference host city to benefit from direct member donations and Silent Auction scholarship proceeds.
NMA maintains deep ties with military veterans across defense industry chapters, sponsoring transitional housing initiatives like Reno’s Veterans Guest House.
