Awards

NMA Silver Knight and Gold Knight of Leadership Awards

The Silver Knight of Leadership is the highest award NMA chapters can bestow upon an outstanding executive. The Gold Knight is presented by NMA councils. (A council is a geographically co-located group of NMA chapters who come together to meet, hear guest speakers, and share best practices.)

The Silver and Gold Knights recognize executives/senior management whose reputations for outstanding leadership are well-known in the area served by the chapters and/or councils.

Honorees are women and men who lead by example, having motivated others to practice the equivalent of NMA’s Code of Ethics. Knight recipients have demonstrated the ability to mobilize individual commitment for change, engender organizational capabilities to build teams and deliver results, and set direction by envisioning the future and sharing that vision.

Most importantly, these awards are only given to those who demonstrate personal character by fostering relationships, modeling integrity, and building trust. Recipients are recognized for their passion in developing others, insistence on open and honest communications, and creating an inclusive environment where every member of the team can stretch, take risks, create, contribute, and learn.

Finally, Silver and Gold Knight honorees model their organizations’ values, champion diversity, mentor and coach others, and maintain both internal and external customer focus.
